What a farce

-

FIRST, we had musical theatre reopening with no singing. Then theatres were allowed to reopen, but not for live shows. Now orchestra members have to sit three metres apart and back to back. How will they be able to see the conductor?

Shows going ahead with fewer cast members and social distancing won’t work apart from cutting the chorus line.

Has the Culture Minister ever been to the opera, ballet, comedy or a musical?

As Stephen Sondheim said: ‘Quick, send in the clowns. Don’t bother they’re here.’ SARAH MORRISON,

Ormskirk, Lancs. I HOPE the theatres reopen soon. Aged 16, I went to one of the first performances of The Mousetrap in the West End in 1952 and saw Sheila Sim and Richard Attenborough. I’ve never revealed ‘whodunnit’.
