Nuclear firm’s 300 jobs

ENERGY firm EDF has opened a site in Bristol that will create 300 jobs.

The centre will help to design and build the nuclear reactors for its UK power plants at Hinkley Point and Sizewell .

It will employ 700 people, with about 400 of these from EDF and other partner engineering firms and suppliers, such as Atkins and Framatome UK.

EDF is hoping that bringing teams from the different companies together will speed up the process.

The French firm is building the £22.5bn Hinkley Point plant in Somerset with China’s CGN.
