Zaha summer move saga on cards again

- By DAVID KENT

WILFRIED ZAHA is primed for another summer of transfer uncertainty as clubs from across Europe plot to land the Crystal Palace star. The winger has proved to be the Eagles’ talisman yet again this season, helping Roy Hodgson’s side to top-flight safety before the season was disrupted. In an exclusive interview with

Sportsmail last year, Zaha (right) made no secret of his desire to leave Selhurst Park ahead of the current campaign. But moves to Arsenal and Everton broke down due to Palace’s £80million asking price, much to Zaha’s frustration. Once more, however, clubs from across the continent are considering a swoop for the Ivory Coast international. It is understood Everton retain an interest in the forward, while Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are known to be monitoring Zaha’s situation heading into the

transfer window.

Sportsmail understands Newcastle are also keeping tabs on Zaha, though any move would probably be dependent on their protracted takeover. It remains to be seen whether Palace are willing to sell the 27-year-old given the financial complexities created by the coronavirus pandemic. If they are open to offers, Palace’s valuation of Zaha will almost certainly be the defining factor.
