WOULD LIKE TO MEET

I’M DRAWN to guys who are kind and make me laugh. Is it shallow to say they need to be attractive, too?

DATING PAST?

I moved in with my most recent boyfriend after 18 months of dating, but we realised we were not compatible. Since then I’ve been on a few dating apps. I do tend to attract commitment-phobes. I was seeing someone for six months before he told me he wasn’t ready for a relationship. The dating world is tough.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

I’ve been on so many dates over the past few years that I don’t tend to get nervous. I approach dates like I would a work meeting.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

Embarrassingly, I was 15 minutes late — while oscar was early. It was raining when I got off the Tube so I had to buy an umbrella.

Then I entered the restaurant through the wrong door, so I had go out again so my temperature could be checked.

I’m usually early to everything, but, fortunately, oscar was fine about it. He looked really smart in a pair of trousers and a shirt.

EASY TO TALK TO?

Oscar immediately said ‘I’m a bit nervous’, which made me warm to him. We had lots in common, too.

We both have extended families and step-families. We joked about the chaos christmas can bring when you have siblings and step- siblings. everyone has to balance the family members they’re going to see at different times — it was good to talk to someone who understood.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

Being late definitely counts as an embarrassing moment.

DID SPARKS FLY?

Not on my side. While we had a lot in common, the chemistry just wasn’t there for me.

When I asked oscar how he thought the date had gone, he said: ‘It was lovely and good fun, but I don’t think I’m your kind of guy.’ I’m glad I asked the question.

I did suggest staying in touch as friends but I don’t think he was keen, so we didn’t swap numbers.

DID YOU KISS?

no, We didn’t.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

Hopefully that I’m easy to get along with and a nice person.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY LIKE HIM?

Yes, absolutely — you could put oscar into any situation with your family or friends and he’d get along well with everyone.
