Ramsay loves his new pool... as you can clearly see!

- By Dominique Hines

AT first glance, you might think Gordon Ramsay and his son Oscar are enjoying a day out at a sea-life aquarium.

This massive clear-fronted tank, however, is actually the new swimming pool at the TV chef’s £4.4million Cornish home.

It stretches across a terrace and on to the lawn of the property in upmarket Rock, with sea views across the coast.

After Ramsay, 5 , shared a snap of himself on Instagram holding 15-month-old Oscar in front of the pool’s transparent front – believed to be made from a huge acrylic panel – his fans were quick to comment.

‘This has to be the most incredible home pool I’ve ever seen,’ wrote one. Another said: ‘Is that a pool in the background or some sort of water feature for a business?’ The former Kitchen Nightmares host has been isolating at the beachfront mansion with his wife Tana, 46, and their children Megan, 22, twins Holly and Jack, 20, Matilda, 18, and Oscar.

Ramsay bought the site in 2015 but then angered locals by demolishing the original 1920s five-bedroom mansion to create two new buildings – the main house and a three-bedroom grass-covered garden house just a stone’s throw from the ocean at high tide. The main house has two kitchens, a wine cellar and four en-suite bathrooms. The look of the modern main home had some accusing him of bringing ‘Legoland’ to Cornwall.

Nearly 20 people wrote to Cornwall Council to complain that the garden house would spoil the designated area of outstanding natural beauty and damage other residents’ view. But the council ruled that other properties would not be overlooked.
