BLADES CLOSING IN ON BREWSTER

LIVERPOOL’S Rhian Brewster was omitted from their squad to face Lincoln City last night amid further talks with Sheffield United. Crystal Palace had been considered favourites to land the £25million-rated striker but have yet to put forward a bid. Aston Villa and Brighton are also in the frame to sign the 20-year-old.

ASTON VILLA striker Mbwana Samatta is in Turkey to negotiate a proposed £6m move to Fenerbahce. The 27-year-old only joined in January for £8.5m from Genk but failed to have an impact, scoring twice in 16 appearances.

SOUTHAMPTON are among the clubs to have asked about a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek (below). Aston Villa are keen too. Southampton have also considered Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and Tom Davies of Everton.

CHELSEA have held initial talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the sale of Tiemoue Bakayoko. ÷ WEST HAM have made a £23m bid for St Etienne defender Wesley Fofana, who is also wanted by Leicester. West Ham have also asked about Bruges midfielder Hans Vanaken. TOTTENHAM have held more talks with AC Milan over the sale of full back Serge Aurier, who they value at £22m. ÷ WEST BROM will complete a second loan move for Filip Krovinovic from Benfica. Manager Slaven Bilic also wants a pacy centre forward.

MANCHESTER UNITED defender Max Taylor, 20, is discussing a loan move to National League North side Kidderminster Harriers. EVERTON midfielder Dennis Adeniran is joining Wycombe on loan. BURNLEY have completed the signing of Dale Stephens from Brighton.
