Now that’s perfectly feasible as this gem of a tropical island in the south-east Caribbean has launched the Barbados welcome Stamp visa for those looking to work from home with a paradise backdrop.

It allows you to make this safe and sunny island your home away from home for 12 months while working remotely for your current employer or for yourself. And applications are open now.

NEW DAILY FLIGHTS

WITH average temperatures of 27c and some 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, friendly Barbados is also very much open to British tourists and can’t wait to welcome you.

And the good news is that it’s now easier than ever to fly there. Starting on October 17, a new year-round direct daily flight to Barbados from London Heathrow will offer increased connectivity to UK regions, including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester.

This is in addition to the daily service from Gatwick.

Touch down to powder-soft sand beaches, views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea, actionpacked water activities, world heritage sites, tax-free shopping and gastronomic adventures.

Barbados is referred to as the ‘culinary capital of the Caribbean’, offering a wide range of gastronomic options, from fine dining restaurants to delicious Bajan street food.

Take Champers, perched on the water’s edge at Rockley Beach with breathtaking views and a chic, laidback Caribbean atmosphere — or Tides at Holetown, once a classic seaside Barbadian home built with coral stone and mahogany.

And don’t miss the Oistins Fish Fry, on a Friday and Saturday night. Taste the flavour of the Caribbean with fresh fish such as mahi-mahi, swordfish, marlin and lobster.

You’ll also hear the chatter a and laughter of the warm and w welcoming locals, and great party music from back-in-time ska and reggae hits to calypso.

SAFE AND FRIENDLY

BARBADOS’S many wonders include Harrison’s Cave — an undergound crystallised cavern, where electric trams venture past flowing streams, deep pools and through corridors of stalactites and stalagmites.

Savour different rums at the famous Mount Gay Distillery, or at 17th-century Nicholas Abbey.

Go paddle boarding and surfing. Or take a catamaran cruise, where rum cocktails are served, for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of swimming alongside hawksbill and leatherback turtles.

whether you’re longing to get away for some well-deserved winter sun — or simply bored of ‘working from home’ and wish you were ‘ working from beach’ instead — beautiful, safe and friendly Barbados is ready to welcome you with open arms.
