KLOPP FURY AS PL KEEPS THREE SUBS

- By SAMI MOKBEL and JACK GAUGHAN

JURGEN KLOPP and Pep Guardiola were among the Premier League managers angered by yesterday’s vote to reject five substitutions. It was the third time the change from three subs to five has been voted on this season and the decision to retain the status quo was branded ‘short-sighted’ by those on the losing side. Manchester City boss Guardiola and Liverpool’s Klopp have been advocates of reintroducing five substitutions and were severely disappointed yesterday amid growing concerns over player welfare. Klopp had claimed at least 15 out of 20 managers were in

again. We were jogging around the pitch. ‘We were a little sloppy at 3-1 up as well. The corner that led to the second goal wasn’t a corner but when it goes in it was really difficult because they are a handful. It could have been more comfortable, but the character was fantastic by every single one of us.’ Henderson, handed his second league start for United in place of David de Gea, recovered from his error to make a fine late save from Lys Mousset. ‘The good, the bad and the ugly, maybe in a different order!’ said Solskjaer. ‘He dillied and dallied on the ball for the first goal but he made a great save towards the end. ‘He is always learning. He has probably been looking forward to coming back here and to (recover) from that start shows his character for the rest of the game. Dean passed it with flying colours, he just did what he had to do.’ United came through a physical test and Solskjaer clashed with Blades boss Chris Wilder on the touchline towards the end. ‘I thought all three goals were excellent,’ he added. ‘I wanted to test them here today. We knew it was going to be a physical test. ‘I don’t mind a fair tackle but there were a couple right in front of me. I maybe went overboard with a word (towards Wilder) but I apologised.’ United’s away form is in stark contrast to their results at home and Solskjaer urged his players to end that poor run when Leeds United return to Old Trafford on Sunday. ‘We We need to sort the home form,’ he said. ‘It’s not like it is home and away with these conditions without fans. ‘We should be more used to the Old Trafford pitch than these pitches. ‘Sunday is a massive game. We have been waiting for years (to play Leeds again) and we will be ready for it.’ Defeat left Sheffield United with the worst start in top-flight history, having taken just one point from their first 13 games. Wilder said: ‘I don’t worry about what I can’t control. I don’t worry about my job. I keep coming into work and doing it to the best of my ability.’
