BREXIT DAY

NEW rules will come into force for travel to and from Europe on New Year’s Day. Heathrow airport has a concise online guide explaining key issues such as passport validity, health insurance and duty-free shopping; just search ‘Brexit FAQs’ ( heathrow.com or go to gov.uk/ visit-europe-1-january-2021).

EASYJET LOOKS AHEAD

EASYJET has put its Winter 2022 flights on sale early. Bookings can be made as far ahead as March 26, 2022, with fares from £14.99 oneway. The move will help any passengers who need to rearrange their travel plans due to the pandemic — tickets can be reschedule­d without a change fee up to 14 days before departure ( easyjet.com).

BA CUTS BACK

BRITISH Airways is cancelling 13 long-haul routes from next summer. Destinatio­ns axed include Kuala Lumpur, the Seychelles, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Durban, Charleston and Lima. Services to Bangkok, Sydney and Costa Rica will be temporaril­y suspended until October 30, 2021 ( ba.com).

MOROCCO BOUND

ROYAL Air Maroc will resume flights between Gatwick and Marrakesh, above, on February 11, 2021, four times a week. Services will also connect Gatwick and Manchester with Agadir ( royalairma­roc.com, visitmoroc­co.com).

STUDENT DISCOUNT

ETIHAD Airways is offering students 10 per cent discount on flights booked before March 31, 2021, for travel up to September 30, 2021. Family members taking the same flight can also benefit and there is an increased luggage allowance of 40kg. A valid student ID must be shown at check-in ( etihad.com).

GREEK SUNSHINE

AEGEAN will offer three new routes to the Greek islands next summer, departing from Gatwick. Flights to Corfu, Santorini and Heraklion, on the north coast of Crete, will start on May 1, 2021 ( en.aegeanair.com).

REACH FOR THE SKY

ZOE FRANKLIN, who pilots an Airbus A350 for Virgin Atlantic, has written a children’s book that aims to inspire them to ‘follow their dreams’. Telling of the adventures of two girls who build their own aircraft, Ada And Emily Take To The Skies! is available as an e-book and in print ( virg.in/RXm).
