MAN UNITED (4-2-3-1) TEAM AVERAGE 6.2

DEAN HENDERSON 6.5

Good home debut and made an excellent save from a powerful Mahrez shot at 1-0.

AARON WAN-BISSAKA 6.5 Great duel with Foden. Had his hands full throughout as City players swapped wings.

VICTOR LINDELOF 6 Made some timely interceptions on his comeback to the side from injury.

HARRY MAGUIRE 6 Read the game well but lost track of Stones for the goal. Could have scored with a header.

LUKE SHAW 7 Good marking job on Sterling and got forward whenever he could. Had a row with Cancelo.

SCOTT McTOMINAY 6 Went close with first-half effort but first player subbed as United looked to get back into game.

FRED 6 Had his work cut out and had to be careful after getting himself booked in second half.

MARCUS RASHFORD 6.5 Looked United’s best bet for a breakthrough but didn’t quite happen for the Englishman.

BRUNO FERNANDES 6 Not his night. United’s talisman gave possession away too cheaply and lacked his usual spark.

PAUL POGBA 6

Plenty of effort but didn’t produce enough for a player of his calibre on the left-hand side.

ANTHONY MARTIAL 6 Couple of chances but didn’t cause City enough problems. Laughable dive in the second half.

SUBSTITUTES Greenwood 6 (for McTominay 75min), Van de Beek (for Fred 88). Not used: De Gea, Bailly, Mata, James, Telles, Matic, Tuanzebe.

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER 6 Deja vu as it is another semi-final loss for Solskjaer’s United.

MAN CITY (4-2-3-1) TEAM AVERAGE 6.7

ZACK STEFFEN 6.5

Solid first derby and made a super save to tip away Fernandes effort in the first half.

JOAO CANCELO 7 Managed to keep Pogba relatively quiet and got forward well — went close with a shot.

JOHN STONES 7 Grateful to see own-goal ruled out for offside, then settled. Right place at right time for his goal.

RUBEN DIAS 8 Fantastic block on Rashford shot was the highlight of outstanding display. Good clearances.

OLEX ZINCHENKO 5 Struggled against Rashford’s pace and looked vulnerable in second start in a week.

FERNANDINHO 7 Got at Fernandes and got under his skin as well. Typically combative and a great strike for second.

ILKAY GUNDOGAN 6.5 A handful for United and had an early goal ruled out for offside. Pressed well off the ball.

RAHEEM STERLING 6.5 Switched flanks but found Shaw as hard to beat as Wan-Bissaka and wasn’t as effective as usual.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE 7.5 At the heart of City’s best moves. Shook the post with a cracking shot in the first half.

PHIL FODEN 7 Looked lively on the left. Full of running and attacking intent. His cross made Stones’ goal.

RIYAD MAHREZ 6 Made little impression through the middle. Better when he drifted wide.

SUBSTITUTES Rodrigo (for Mahrez 79). Not used: Trafford, Walker, Jesus, Aguero, Mendy, Nmecha, Harwood-Bellis, Mbete.

PEP GUARDIOLA 8 His defence looks more solid than ever before. Into yet another final.

REFEREE MARTIN ATKINSON 7 Kept control of the derby and made the right calls.
