‘NIALL IS OUR HARRY KANE... WITHOUT THE SHOOTING ABILITY OR PACE!’

MARINE DEFENDER JAMES JOYCE RUNS THE RULE OVER HIS TEAM-MATES…

- ● James Joyce was speaking to DOMINIC KING

MARINE have captured the country’s imagination with an FA Cup run that has netted them a dream third-round tie against Tottenham. Defender JAMES JOYCE gives Sportsmail the inside track on the squad.

BAYLEIGH PASSANT (Goalkeeper)

THE nicest lad you’ll ever meet. We love him. he has just come out of full-time football with Tranmere. he went to the shops in his kit after our win over havant in the last round and the clip went viral. he has become a mini-celebrity in the area.

JOSH SOLOMON-DAVIES (Defender)

HE IS very quiet and some would say he can be a bit miserable. But once you get to know him, he is a good lad. We are lucky as the dressing room is full of great characters with no big heads. It is why we all get on so well.

DAVID RAVEN (Defender, below)

‘RAVO’ was brought in for his experience. he started out as a kid at Liverpool and was a pro at Tranmere when I was a scholar there. he works as a coach and has been a big help to everyone.

ANTHONY MILEY (Defender)

HE HAS chipped in with a few important goals for us, not least the one at Colchester in the first round. The celebrations after he scored and the bus ride home was one of the highlights of the season.

ADAM HUGHES (Defender)

HE IS on loan from Welsh side TNS and so plays full-time. he’s been versatile for us but has had a couple of injury problems. This is his second spell here, so he slotted in no problem.

JAMES JOYCE (Defender)

WHAT would they say about me? I hope that I’m happy and I give my all for them. I’ve found the last month surreal. I can’t believe we have got this opportunity.

JOSH HMAMI (Midfielder)

HE’S one of my favourites, a great character who laughs at everything. he was quiet at first but once he started to come out of his shell, he mixed with everyone. he’s only 20 but technically he’s very good. he takes one hell of a free-kick and has scored six this season.

JAMES BARRIGAN (Midfielder)

BAZ the binman! he’s one of my good mates, the soundest lad I’ve met in football. he works his socks off in every game and is an unbelievable athlete, full of energy and selfless runs.

JAMES DEVINE (Midfielder)

ONE of the main reasons the atmosphere around the team and dressing room is so good. he’s a really good player, too. he does the right things and reads the game well. A great temperament for an occasion like this.

RYAN WIGNALL (Midfielder)

RYAN and I played against each other in the Welsh Premier league and had a good few battles — which I have to say I came out on top most times! his ability to jink his way on to his left or right foot to deliver a cross is one of the best you will find at this level.

NEIL KENGNI (Forward)

ONE of the Manchester boys, he keeps his cards close to his chest but comes alive in games. Fast and direct, he has been our standout performer this season.

NIALL CUMMINS (Forward)

AN old, experienced non-League head. he is a teacher by day and I’ve known him for a few years. he’s a goalscorer but I don’t think I’ve seen him score from outside the box. Basically he’s our harry Kane — but without the shooting ability and the pace! The feeling of him scoring against havant was the most joy I have had in football. I’ll never forget it.
