IT’S MAN UNITED v LIVERPOOL!

- By TOM COLLOMOSSE

MANCHESTER UNITED will host Liverpool in a blockbuster FA Cup fourth f round tie as non-League Chorley C drew a home game with Premier League Wolves.

The National League North side, who beat Covid-hit Derby 2-0 in the third round, are the lowestranked r side left but will relish welcoming Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to Victory Park.

Should S they knock them out, they will be eyeing a possible fifth round tie against holders Arsenal. To try to allow teams to plan their schedule, both the fourth and fifth round draws were made last night.

‘Premier League opposition o is what we wanted,’ w said Chorley boss Jamie Vermiglio (right).

‘There is a bit of history there, too — in 1986 we beat Wolves 3-0, so we just need to do that again.

Our chairman, Ken Wright, was the manager at the time. ‘It will be tough to keep the players focused on the league, which is our priority.

They are going to start thinking about Wolves and dreaming big. ‘The players will be working even harder to be in that starting line-up.’

League Two Crawley, who knocked out Leeds, travel to Championship promotion hopefuls Bournemouth. Crawley manager John Yems may feel he has a point to prove after he was released from the Cherries’ coaching staff in 2018.

Arsenal will meet either Southampton or Shrewsbury — a third round game which has yet to be played due to a coronavirus outbreak at the League One club — and League Two Cheltenham have drawn a plum tie at home to Manchester City.

But it is the game between United and Liverpool, who have won the trophy 19 times between them, which is the highlight. United have not lifted the Cup since 2016, and Liverpool have not won it since 2006. It means backto-back games for the sides, who meet in the league at Anfield on Sunday.

With both teams challenging for the title, and coronavirus playing havoc with the schedule, it remains to be seen how strong the starting lineups chosen by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jurgen Klopp will be, though a battle between the two great clubs will always whet the appetite.

The winner will host either West Ham or Doncaster. Elsewhere, Brighton host Blackpool and Spurs travel to Championship strugglers Wycombe Wanderers.
