Rolling up for his injection, David Cameron (er... 54)
DAVID Cameron got his coronavirus vaccine yesterday – despite being only 54.
The former prime minister shared a photo of himself receiving the jab and urged others to do the same.
Mr Cameron tweeted: ‘Huge “thank you” to our brilliant NHS and all the amazing staff and volunteers working on the UK’s deeply impressive vaccine programme.
‘I was proud to have my jab this morning and encourage everyone to take theirs when the call comes.
‘It’s crucial we look after ourselves and each other.’
It is understood Mr Cameron got the jab at a public vaccination centre in London yesterday morning. A source said he got the call up for the vaccine in the normal way and attended an appointment as soon as he could.
And it came on the same day as his former health secretary Jeremy Hunt, who also received his first shot.
Posting a picture of himself receiving the jab on Twitter, Mr Hunt, 54, wrote: ‘Jab done! Thanks to Penny O’Hara and the brilliant volunteers at the RHS Hall including Shreya who actually vaccinated me. Brilliantly organised programme – congrats Matt Hancock and Nadhim Zahawi.’
Mr Cameron is not the only former prime minister to have received his jab, although he is the youngest.
His successor Theresa May, who is ten years his elder, tweeted about getting her vaccine on Friday.
And Tony Blair, 67, posted about getting his first vaccine last month, tweeting it made him ‘proud of our country’.
