THE wife of Ioan Gruffudd yesterday launched a blistering attack on the actor after he filed for divorce – and suggested another woman was involved.

Alice Evans took aim at the Welsh star saying he ‘believes in lying rather than harsh truths’. She said she had ‘hoped’ their marriage could have been saved.

The actress, 49, claimed Gruffudd, 47, did not inform the family ahead of filing divorce documents at Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday – and that they had only found out from online news.

Writing on social media, she said she is now ‘terrified for what tomorrow will bring’.

Gruffudd’s mother Margaret has previously insisted there was no third party involved in the split.

Miss Evans wrote on Instagram: ‘I can’t sleep. Not a wink… Do you what I’m mostly scared of? [sic] It’s who the girl is.’ She and Liar star Gruffudd have been married since 2007 and are parents to Ella, 11, and Elsie, seven. Miss Evans continued: ‘I’m scared that my little girls will be disappointed by their dad’s behaviour and model that in their future relations with the opposite sex.’

She said she had only found out her own father was a ‘s***’ at age 32 and is ‘convinced that made me the woman I am today.’ She added: ‘I’m also scared of my ex-husband’s response… I know he’ll be angry (he is always angry – he was born angry).’

The British- American actress said she broke the news of the divorce to her youngest daughter when she returned from spending time with her father.

She said Elsie had run ‘away screaming, “my daddy would never do that to my mommy”’.

She added: ‘I imagine some mothers who don’t believe in telling their kids the truth about everything will object. That’s fine. My ex-husband believes in lying rather than harsh truths.’

A representative for Gruffudd has not responded to a request for comment.
