LILY’S ROMANCE IS BLOOMING
It’s meet-the-parents time for actress and rocker love
THE clasped hands and broad smiles show they’re a couple full of the joys of spring.
But there are other clues in this snap of Lily James and her new boyfriend, American rocker Michael Shuman, that suggest things are getting serious.
Note the expensive vase of flowers and their smart attire – the British actress wearing a flowing skirt and the Queens Of The Stone Age bassist in smart boots and jacket. For they are visiting his parents’ home in Los Angeles, possibly to meet them as a couple for the first time.
The musician’s parents are Ira Shuman, a Hollywood producer who has also worked for Disney, and Janet Shuman.
Miss James, 31, and Shuman, 35, were first spotted together only in February. He was thought to be staying with her at her £3 million home in north London while she was filming in the UK. Now she has flown to LA as she prepares to start work on a biopic of Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson, in which she has the starring role.
The happy scene comes after a turbulent spell in Miss James’s love life.
She split from long-term boyfriend, Doctor Who star Matt Smith, 38, at the end of 2019, and then last summer she was linked to US actor Chris Evans, 39, after they were seen together in London.
A couple of months later, photos emerged of Miss James and married actor Dominic West, 51, apparently getting close while in Rome. They were snapped in a clinch over lunch and sharing a scooter ride around the city. West and his wife Catherine FitzGerald, 49, later insisted that all was well in their ten-year marriage.
