COASTAL DEFENCE The Buildings That Fought Hitler, 8pm, Yesterday

THE title is ridiculous, but this new series from Rob Bell has a strong basic premise — to bring the not always obvious wartime history of our buildings to light. He starts on the beaches, as per Churchill’s speech, with how Victorian forts were pressed back into service.

BRITISH SLEUTHS The Coroner/Luther, 8pm/9pm, Drama

TWO very different crime dramas begin weekday repeats. In The Coroner, Claire Goose looks for both cause and perpetrato­r in a south Devon seaside town, while in Luther, Idris Elba smoulders as DCI John Luther, opposite an excellent Ruth Wilson as his nemesis.

THIS comedy follows a group of young men — and a jaded nurse — who will not let their disabiliti­es get in the way of them having sex. Refreshing, fun and non-judgmental.

NEW MYSTERY Mare Of Easttown, 9pm, Sky Atlantic

MARE (Kate Winslet, pictured) is a detective who was once a big deal in her home town as a high-school basketball star. Now, she’s divorced and drinking, but may find salvation in the case of a missing girl in this well-acted HBO drama, which pairs Winslet with her Mildred Pierce co-star Guy Pearce.

TRUE CRIME Survivors With Denise Welch, 9pm, C+I

DENISE WELCH talks to survivors of terrible crimes for this very personal new six-parter, starting with the case of Kayleigh White.
