The country which refused to accept her as its Queen 50 years ago sent a coffin of English oak to bring her to be buried beside the man she loved. APRIL 28, 1988 WHITNEY HOUSTON’S entrance into the NEC in Birmingham last night could have been that of a world championship boxing contender. Sure enough, almost two hours later, a title was hers. Since Whitney (pictured) was unleashed four years ago, the loose-limbed perfectframed American model turned singer has marched unfalteringly to world domination. Her record sales outstrip even Madonna’s.
