APRIL 28, 1988 WHITNEY HOUSTON’S entrance into the NEC in Birmingham last night could have been that of a world championship boxing contender. Sure enough, almost two hours later, a title was hers. She was a confirmed champion of world pop. Since Whitney (pictured) was unleashed four years ago, the loose-limbed perfectframed American model turned singer has marched unfalteringly to world domination. Her record sales outstrip even Madonna’s.
