WOULD LIKE TO MEET

SOMEONE who is open-minded.

DATING PAST?

I was in a four-year relationship, but ultimately we were not wellsuited. we’ve remained friends.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

DatIng this year has been nonexistent. the apps are exhausting and most of the men I come across are only interested in hook-ups. that’s why I’m excited to go on a blind date.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

I arrIveD a couple of minutes early and was shown to our outside table. the weather was spring at its worst; it was windy and it rained, so I kept my coat on. Connor arrived 40 minutes later. I’d been informed he was delayed, but I never expected him to be that late.

I was hungry and wondered whether it would be rude to order before he arrived. I didn’t want to be ‘hangry’! He explained he was held up in traffic, but it was only on my way home that I realised he didn’t apologise for leaving me waiting so long. I thought that was rude and it was a red flag for me.

even so, Connor seemed friendly and outgoing, so I gave him a chance. after all, I was hungry and wanted to order.

EASY TO TALK TO?

wHIle we chatted, I noticed Connor was nicely dressed in a denim jacket and jeans. I wore a red dress and black jacket, but I had to keep putting my coat on and then taking it off because it was so cold.

Connor is an acrobat and spends time training and keeping in shape. It sounds like he’s dedicated and I thought it was a cool profession.

He asked me about my job, but didn’t really understand it — I find that’s normal, though. I make videos and stream them online, but he just couldn’t grasp the gaming side of it.

the only thing we have in common is that we both prioritise our careers and look after our bodies.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

no, tHankfully. we were at a sushi restaurant called oka and the food was heavenly. fortunately, I was fine with the chopsticks.

DID SPARKS FLY?

no. wHIle Connor seems like a nice guy, there was no spark.

WILL YOU MEET UP AGAIN?

as frIenDs only. we gave each other our social media information.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I tHInk lockdown has blunted my body language skills and I just couldn’t read what he thought of me.

WOULD YOUR FRIENDS LIKE HIM?

I Don’t think they’d get on. Connor came across as high-maintenance, whereas my friends are easy-going.
