BARRY JENKINS, the Oscarwinning writer-director of Moonlight, brings great skill to this portrait of escape from the brutality of slavery. The sound of the lash is rarely far away in part one, but this is far from a one-note drama. Later episodes show us very different sides of life in early 1800s U.S., and there is an element of fantasy as the railroad here is a real subterranean train system — in reality, it was a network of people.
U.S. ACTION S.W.A.T., 9pm, Pick
A HOSTAGE situation leads to bigger and more personal problems for Hondo (Shemar Moore) in the season one finale to this macho drama. Hondo needs everyone on their A-game — especially as he’s got a beef with his dad, too — but colleague Street is distracted by his manipulative ex-con mum.

THIS is a portrait of the unsung British singer-songwriter, who is variously described here as the ‘archetypal hippy’ and a ‘musical badger’, He talks unassumingly about his time with Paul Weller (who calls him ‘cool’), his surprising stint with Oasis and more.
