‘Hitman in litter-picker ruse as he scouted victim’s home’

- By George Odling Crime Reporter

THE wife of a man gunned down outside his home was shown screaming and shielding their twoyear-old son as her husband was killed in horrifying court footage.

And separate CCTV clips appeared to show the alleged hitman carrying out reconnaissance in the days before the attack dressed as a litter picker.

Flamur Beqiri, 36, was shot as he walked home with Debora Krasniqi, 31, and their son Ari. Anis Hemissi, 24, is on trial at London’s Southwark Crown Court accused of his murder. The father-of-two was killed on Christmas Eve 2019.

In the days before the attack, the hitman was said to have spent four-and-a-half hours in the vicinity of the home disguised as a litter picker – and possibly wearing a latex mask – before he was challenged by a suspicious neighbour.

Jurors were also shown images of what prosecutors believe is the gunman lying in wait outside the house an hour and 45 minutes before the attack.

There were gasps in court as jurors were shown footage of a gunman dressed in black emerge from behind the family and fire at Mr Beqiri at least eight times in quick succession at point blank range. The victim then collapses in the front garden of his £1.7million home in Battersea, south-west London. Mrs Krasniqi screams in horror and shields Ari from the attacker, who runs out of frame.

Seconds later, two more shots are fired and bullets appear to hit the side of the home.

Describing the moment Mr Beqiri was gunned down, prosecutor Mark Heywood QC said: ‘He came up behind Mr Beqiri, pulled out a black handgun and fired the entire contents of the magazine that was loaded into the pistol.

‘And it was done very quickly. Bang, bang, bang – very quick indeed. The shots continued as Mr Beqiri went from vertical to horizontal and they continued even as he had hit the ground.’

The gun – which has never been recovered – is understood to be a 9mm Glock self-loading pistol. Mr Beqiri, a Swedish national, was struck by at least eight bullets, with six later found in his body and bullet marks found in the brickwork of his house.

‘His wife and child were right there,’ Mr Heywood said. ‘The intention was clear. First, it was to kill. Second, it was to do so in a way calculated to cause maximum terror and shock.’ The victim was the brother of the Real Housewives of Cheshire star Misse Beqiri.

The murder is linked to an attack on Mr Beqiri’s friend, Naief Adawi, in Malmo in Sweden in August 2019 in which Mr Adawi’s wife Karolin Hakim, 31, was shot dead, jurors were told. Mr Beqiri’s murder and the attack on Mr Adawi are the latest in an increasingly violent battle between two organised criminal gangs based in southern Sweden, Mr Heywood told the court.

Hemissi denies murder and possession of a self-loading pistol.

Swedish nationals Estevan PinoMunizaga, 35, Tobias Fredrik Andersson, 32, and Bawer Karaer, 23 – all said to have been part of his support team – also deny murder.

British national Clifford Rollox, 31, from Islington, north London, and Dutch national Claude Isaac Castor, 21, from Sint Maarten in the Caribbean but resident in the UK, deny perverting the course of justice.

The trial continues.
