Shush dear, Alec Baldwin told wife ... as she gave birth!

MOST men would never dream of making such an outrageous comment.

But actor Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria has revealed that her husband told her to ‘shush’ while she was in labour with their son Rafael.

The yoga teacher, 37, made the admission as she reacted to a headline that read: ‘When my husband told me to shush during labour I knew our marriage was over’.

It’s a remark that has once again turned an unwanted spotlight on to the 63-year-old actor following the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins after he accidentally discharged a loaded gun on set.

Mrs Baldwin wrote about the birth of her son, now six, on Instagram, revealing: ‘Alec shushed me while I was in labour with Rafa. He was on the phone. “Shush! Can you keep it down?” The moment he said it, he realised he sounded like an a** and he cowered. Kept the marriage.’

She added jokingly: ‘Went on to have 522 babies after. I permit him in after the epidural. I’ll spare you the details of my reaction for now. But it never happened again.’ She later said that her husband ‘pays for shushing me in labour by cleaning every bottle in the house’, adding: ‘Just kidding... that never happens. Perhaps he can start now.’

The couple also have a daughter Carmen, eight, and sons Leonardo, five, Romeo, three, Eduardo, one, and Lucia, nine months.

Mrs Baldwin came under fire in October after sharing a picture of the family in fancy dress for Halloween just days after her husband shot cinematographer Mrs Hutchins. The 42year-old was fatally wounded, and director Joel Souza injured, in the incident on the set of Baldwin’s Western movie Rust.

Baldwin, whose films include Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice and It’s Complicated, with Meryl Streep, was in tears as he denied firing the.45 Colt revolver when he gave his first major interview since the tragedy in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on October 21.

Speaking to ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos last month,

‘He sounded like an a**’

he said: ‘The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger. I would never point a gun at someone and pull the trigger at them. Never.’

Baldwin said he had ‘no idea’ how the live bullet had got inside what he believed was a safe ‘cold gun’.

He added: ‘Someone put a live bullet in a gun – a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property.’

Asked if it was the worst thing that had ever happened to him, he replied: ‘Yes. Because I think back and I think, “What could I have done?”’ Baldwin said he probably would ‘have killed himself’ if he had felt responsible for the fatal shooting of Mrs Hutchins.
