Baldwin’s happy family New Year... as gun victim’s son faces 2022 without a mother
THE wife of Alec Baldwin has posted a picture of her beaming family looking forward to a ‘flawless’ 2022 – after ‘so much awfulness’.
Beneath the New Year photograph, which includes her 63-year-old husband and their six children, Hilaria Baldwin emphasises the need for kindness.
It comes less than three months after a prop gun Baldwin was holding went off on a film set, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42.
Mrs Hutchins left behind her nine-yearold son Andros and husband Matthew, 38.
Following the tragedy it was reported that Andros was in such shock that he had ‘fallen silent for two days’.
In her Instagram post, Mrs Baldwin, a 37year-old yoga instructor, said: ‘Apparently 2022 is going to be flawless. We have dealt with so much awfulness lately, so it must be about time, right? Then I got scared – what if more horrible things happen and I can’t make it all good for everyone?
‘Then I realised that this thinking is the problem. Life is naturally flawed.’
Mrs Baldwin went on to encourage her followers to ‘dedicate this year to kindness’.
Ukrainian-born Mrs Hutchins was shot on the set of Western movie Rust at a ranch outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, on October 21 last year. Baldwin was holding the gun but has said he did not pull the trigger and did not know there was live ammunition in it. When the weapon did go off, it also injured director Joel Souza.
A search warrant was issued for Baldwin’s phone last month. Investigators said there ‘may be evidence on the phone’ and that several messages were ‘sent and received’ about the film’s production during police interviews. No criminal charges have been brought against anyone.
The Baldwins married in 2012. They have six children: Carmen, eight, sons Rafael, six, Leonardo, five, Romeo, three, and Eduardo, one, as well as nine-month-old daughter Lucia. The 30 Rock actor also has a daughter Ireland, 26, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
