BARCELONA defender Samuel Umtiti has been offered to NEWCASTLE on loan with an option to buy. Manager Eddie Howe wants two centre backs and is weighing up his options after the club’s £30million bid for Lille’s Sven Botman was rejected. Umtiti, who has made one appearance this season, is one of the players Barcelona want off their books so they can register new signings. He has so far refused five moves to other clubs. Newcastle also admire Sevilla’s Diego Carlos but the Spanish side are reluctant to lose the 28-year-old Brazilian as they battle Real Madrid for the title. ÷NAPOLI have agreed to pay Manchester United a £500,000 loan fee for Axel Tuanzebe and will fork out a further £333,000 should they qualify for the Champions League, plus an extra £165,000 if Tuanzebe hits a set amount of appearances. Tuanzebe cut short his loan spell at Aston Villa to join Napoli and Villa now want another back-up centre back.

WATFORD have signed left back Hassane Kamara from Nice for £4m and expect to add Brazilian centre back Samir from sister club Udinese this week. Samir, 27, was at Watford’s training ground on Monday and has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with an option for another year. Edo Kayembe from Eupen is also having a medical at Watford ahead of a £4m move and talks are ongoing for Besiktas centre back Domagoj Vida.

LEFT BACK Tony Gallacher, 21, has joined ST JOHNSTONE from Liverpool on a free. Liverpool insisted on a 30 per cent sell-on clause in the deal.

LEEDS have completed the signing of 18-year-old Mateo Joseph Fernandez from Espanyol for around £900,000 on a three-and-a-half-year deal. The striker has scored 44 goals in 56 games across three seasons for the Spanish side’s youth teams.

BRIGHTON have expressed an interest in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah. The 22-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and he also has interest from Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST are expected to make a renewed bid for Derby full back Lee Buchanan and have asked about Blackpool winger Josh Bowler.

SHEFFIELD UNITED winger Oliver Burke is in talks over a move to BLACKBURN.
