■ MANCHESTER UNITED are progressin­g in discussion­s for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. A basic £55million fee has been discussed with bonuses up to around £68m.

■ CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is poised to give an answer about whether he will sign for United or Brentford. United have no desire to sell Cristiano Ronaldo despite his agent Jorge Mendes talking to Chelsea and Bayern Munich. But they are in talks with FULHAM over the £8.6m sale of midfielder Andreas Pereira. The deal could rise to £11m.

■ WEST HAM hope to sign free agent Jesse Lingard after holding further talks to lure him back to the London Stadium. Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is signing today after a £10.5m fee was agreed with Paris Saint-Germain.

■ GARETH BALE is joining Los Angeles FC on a 12-month contract. Bale, 32, has an option to extend for a further 18 months and could make his debut against LA Galaxy on July 8.

■ CHELSEA are to make an offer for Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling after Thomas Tuchel spoke to the 27-year-old. Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech is talking to AC Milan. City winger Sam Edozie, 19, is joining Leverkusen in a deal worth up to £10m.

■ ARSENAL will make a new bid for Leeds winger Raphinha after wrapping up terms with £45m new signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, who has agreed a five-year contract.

■ LEEDS are in talks with Bruges over a £26m move for forward Charles De Ketelaere. ÷ SVEN BOTMAN will fly into Newcastle today to seal his £31m transfer from Lille. Discussion­s for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike have been derailed by interest from PSG.

■ BURNLEY are signing Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis along with Oxford’s Luke McNally.
