Leeds winger Tyler Roberts has joined QPR on loan. Ipswich want left back Leif Davis.

■ TOTTENHAM have sold Steven Bergwijn to Ajax for £28m.

The Netherlands forward had a medical in Amsterdam yesterday and will wear the No 7 shirt. Ajax offered to waive some of the fee owed for Davinson Sanchez during the negotiations.

■ MANCHESTER UNITED’S pursuit of Frenkie de Jong is being held up by money owed to the player in deferred wages and bonuses by Barcelona. Ajax’s £70m-rated striker Antony fears he could be priced out of a move to United with team-mate Lisandro Martinez the club’s more immediate focus.

■ NOTTINGHAM FOREST have made an improved £16m bid for LIVERPOOL right back Neco Williams and have completed the £13m signing of Mainz defender Moussa Niakhate, who said: ‘It is a dream to sign for such an historic club.’

■ WEST HAM hope to finalise the signing of midfielder Flynn Downes from Swansea today. Swansea have accepted an offer of £9m plus add-ons up to £12m for the 23-year-old, who is a boyhood West Ham fan. David Moyes moved quickly after Crystal Palace lodged a similar offer. Swansea want to bring in free agent Joe Allen, 32.

■ NEWCASTLE’S Dwight Gayle, Jeff Hendrick and Ciaran Clark are training with the club’s Under 23s as they leaving the club. Gayle has interest from Watford and Birmingham, who are also keen on Clark, as are Sheffield United. Hendrick could move to Reading.

■ BAYERN MUNICH director Oliver Kahn has ruled out on a potential swoop for Cristiano Ronaldo, saying: ‘As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest players, a move would not fit into our philosophy.’
