TOFFEES TARGET £17.5M BURNLEY STAR CORNET WINDOW WATCH

■ EVERTON are holding further talks with Burnley over a deal for winger Maxwel Cornet. Director of football Kevin Thelwell has skipped the club’s US tour to accelerate transfer activity and Cornet (right) was not in the Burnley squad for last night’s friendly against Shrewsbury. Everton want the 25-year-old to replace Richarliso­n. He has a £17.5million release clause but Everton are proposing a delayed payment structure. ■ CHELSEA left back Ian Maatsen, 20, has completed his move to Burnley on loan.

■ NOTTINGHAM FOREST have confirmed the signing of Burnley goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey on a free transfer and are continuing to hold talks with Huddersfie­ld for £10m-rated midfielder Lewis O’Brien. Forest have told winger Joe Lolley he is no longer in their plans and striker Lewis Grabban has left the club. ÷ AJAX are offering £19million plus add-ons for Rangers defender Calvin Bassey while BRIGHTON are understood to have proposed £16m for the Nigeria internatio­nal. Bassey has been lined up by Ajax to replace Lisandro Martinez, who is joining MANCHESTER UNITED for £46m. He last night flew to Manchester ahead of a medical.

■ BARCELONA have renewed contact with Bayern Munich over striker Robert Lewandowsk­i and hope for a deal over the weekend.

■ WOLVES have asked about Lens right back Jonathan Clauss, 29, who also has interest from CHELSEA and Manchester United. Chelsea are to sign Arsenal’s 18-year-old winger Omari Hutchinson after he rejected a contract.

■ TOTTENHAM are poised to confirm the signing of Djed Spence from Middlesbro­ugh after he had his medical on Friday. He will cost £12.5m rising to £20m on a five-year deal.

■ JESSE LINGARD wants to make a decision about his future next week. The former Manchester United forward, 29, has a number of offers to discuss with three clubs from the

Premier League and also one from Saudi side Al Shabab.

■ NEWCASTLE UNITED target Hugo Ekitike is joining Paris Saint-Germain. Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot said: ‘We didn’t reach the sum offered by Newcastle (£35m) but Hugo has always been respectful. We are happy to allow him to fulfil his dream.’ ■ SUNDERLAND have signed West Ham defender Aji Alese. ■ WEST BROM have agreed to re-sign Turkey internatio­nal midfielder Okay Yokuslu. ■ HUDDERSFIE­LD TOWN are in talks to sign Japan defender Yuta Nakayama, 25, on a free. ■ DERBY COUNTY are signing free agent former Swansea City midfielder Korey Smith.
