JACk HIGGInS ( 1929- 2022). The newcastle-born author — real name Henry patterson — wrote 85 novels including The eagle Has landed about a nazi plot to kidnap Churchill. He had been told it would fail for having no heroes, which, Higgins said, ‘ taught me one thing: never, never listen to publishers’. It sold 50 million copies and was turned into a film. keenAn Wynn (19161986). ‘One of Hollywood’s most versatile supporting actors’, Wynn was in more than 200 films and TV shows, including The Untouchables (right) and point Blank. He was the son of actor ed Wynn and grandson of silent star
Frank keenan. ‘When I did get a job, the cast hated me before they met me,’ he said. ‘They were sure my dad had bought my way in and that I would be a conceited pup.’
