CUCURELLA IS CLOSE TO £52.5M CHELSEA SWITCH WINDOW WATCH

■ CHELSEA are close to signing Marc Cucurella from Brighton for around £52.5million.

The clubs held off an official agreement last night as talks continued over Levi Colwill heading the opposite way. Cucurella (below) is poised to sign a six-year contract at the Chelsea, pending a medical. Talks had advanced on Tuesday evening and agreement moved closer last night.

The 24-year-old handed in a transfer request after interest from Manchester City but they deemed the fee too high. The left back was with Brighton for just one season after joining from Getafe. His arrival will allow Malang Sarr to join Monaco. Chelsea are still in talks with Inter Milan for midfielder Cesare Casadei.

■ TOTTENHAM want Udinese’s highly-rated left back Destiny Udogie. Udinese will look for about £25m for the 19-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Manchester City. The Italians also want Udogie back on loan. Spurs’ 6ft 6in striker Kion Etete, 20, is joining Cardiff City for £500,000.

■ MANCHESTER UNITED full back Alex Telles travelled to Spain last night for a medical ahead of joining Sevilla on a season’s loan. Sevilla will pay the Brazilian’s salary in full but there will be no loan fee or option to buy. United remain interested in Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, 19, and have spoken to Red Bull Salzburg over Benjamin Sesko, but remain reluctant to meet the £55m asking price. Chelsea and RB Leipzig are also interested.

■ WEST HAM have had a bid worth up to £33.5m accepted for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana but have still to agree personal terms. Talks are ongoing for Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet after their initial offer was rejected on Tuesday.

■ WOLVES have made an enquiry for Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-Jo. The South Korea international, 29, is available for a cut-price fee.

■ LEICESTER CITY goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has signed a three-year deal with Nice after a £1m transfer.

■ ARSENAL defender Pablo Mari has moved to Monza. Forward Folarin Balogun has confirmed his loan to Reims while midfielder Charlie Patino, 18, has joined Blackpool on loan.

■ FORMER Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham has joined Forest Green Rovers on a deal until January.

■ BOURNEMOUTH are confident of signing Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, 33, after further talks last night.
