Tragic toll of the victims who lost their lives

-

MARIAM KAMARA: The 46-year-old nurse was found dead at her terraced home in Brixton, south London, in January.

Her charred remains were found after firefighters were called to put out a blaze centred in the bedroom. But the absence of smoke in her lungs suggested the mother had died before the fire began.

Mrs Kamara, who was born in Sierra Leone, ran a magazine for the community in Brixton.

Her cousin told the Evening Standard: ‘She was beautiful and caring and so helpful. She was a community nurse and absolutely loved her job. She always wanted to help as many people as she could. She was always a calm and subtle presence. She was always stunning, that woman was amazing.’

Her husband Amidu Komora, 47, was charged with stabbing her to death before setting fire to their home.

LUCY POWELL: The mother of two, 21, was found smothered to death in her Birmingham home after family members raised concerns to the police.

Officers also found her partner, Gregory Duhamel, 47, had hanged himself in the house after killing her. She was remembered as ‘a kind, caring, beautiful person inside and out’.

HINA BASHIR: The student’s body was discovered in a suitcase days after she went missing in July. The 21 year old moved to the UK from Pakistan last year and was studying business management in london.

Her boyfriend Muhammad Arslan, 26, was charged with her murder, which he denies.

SAMANTHA DRUMMONDS: The 27 year old was stabbed to death along with three of her family members in April.

Hundreds of mourners lined the streets for their funeral in south london with a neighbour telling the Evening Standard Miss Drummonds was ‘ the kindest person’. Her boyfriend Joshua Jacques, 28, has been charged with their murders.

The grandmother, 50, was found stabbed to death at a home in Durham in June. Harry Turner, 53, was charged with her murder.

Her family told reporters they were heartbroken by their loss and asked to be left to grieve in peace.
