Who takes the pen? Let’s play rock, paper, scissors to decide!

Coventry manager Mark robins joked he wants to ‘ kill’ forwards Haji Wright and Callum o’Hare after they got away with a rock, paper, scissors penalty stunt.

the duo used the game to decide which of them was going to take the spot-kick Wright won, and he converted to equalise in the 67th minute.

regular taker Matty Godden was on the bench.

Wright’s winner three minutes later completed his first brace for the club and helped the Sky Blues into the Championship play- off places on goal difference.

‘I’m going to kill them! that’s something I’ll sort out,’ said former striker robins. ‘For me it’s about who’s confident enough to take the penalty.

‘Callum’s confident, Haji was a regular penalty taker in turkey so I’ve got no problem with who it is, but then if you get involved with that, it puts doubt in somebody’s head.

‘I let them sort it out, but if they’d have missed it they would have been in trouble.

‘ thankfully they had the wherewithal and calm heads to deal with that situation. As long as they’re clear thinking, it doesn’t make any difference.

‘they’re brilliant lads and if they want to sort it out between themselves, it’s fine — I’m not going to get involved in every micro-management decision. But I still want to kill them!’

Wright, the American club record £7million signing, bagged the quickfire brace to hit double figures for the season in the league after romain esse’s 12th- minute opener. victory extended Coventry’s unbeaten home record to 11 matches in all competitions going back to october 30, with just one defeat in 22 games stretching all the way back to last April.

Wright hit the post after tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s first-time shot from 12 yards was parried by goalkeeper Matija Sarkic.

But esse then fired Millwall ahead with a low left-foot drive that deflected in off Luis Binks after Zian Flemming’s run and square ball from the left.

Millwall’s half-time lead was deserved as they were the better side before the break.

Michael obafemi’s first-time shot was shovelled away by Brad Collins, then Joe Bryan’s angled volley flew wide as the visitors pushed for a second goal.

Coventry were twice denied as victor torp’s curling free-kick was tipped over by Sarkic, then Kasey Palmer’s first-time effort was deflected over by defender Wes Harding’s header.

But it was a different story in the second half.

Wright sent Sarkic the wrong way from the penalty spot after he was tripped by tottenham loanee Japhet tanganga.

three minutes later, Wright’s low shot squeezed past Sarkic, who got a hand to it at his near post after o’Hare’s run and pass. It was his 11th goal of the season in all competitions.

Millwall have not won in five games since new year’s Day and are now languishing in 18th in the table, just four points above the relegation zone.

Manager Joe edwards was not surprised at the impact esse made on proceedings.

‘I was delighted with him but it’s where he’s been at recently,’ he said.

‘What I’ve seen in recent weeks is him making a statement.’
