Discover the luxury art of Fabergé on display aboard Seven Seas Grandeur and a world of excursions with Regent Seven Seas Cruises

-

REGENT’S newest ship, Seven Seas Grandeur is inspired by the past and reimagined for the future. A sumptuous vessel that elevates ocean cruising to new heights, it also forms part of an exciting partnership with the House of Fabergé, set to usher in a new era for the art of luxury.

At the heart of the Seven Seas Grandeur’s prized, multimillion-pound art collection will sit a fabulous pièce de résistance: a one-of-a-kind Fabergé egg, crafted specially to be a permanent exhibit on the ship and named Journey in Jewels.

The exquisite partnership was celebrated at the glittering christening of Seven Seas Grandeur in Miami in December, where the ship’s godmother was unveiled as Sarah Fabergé, the great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé and founding member of The Fabergé Heritage Council.

It won’t be the only time she steps aboard Seven Seas Grandeur, as Ms Fabergé will also be welcomed on board the ship as an honoured guest for the forthcoming Spotlight on Fabergé voyage in July 2024.

AN INCREDIBLE WORK OF ART

Designed to reflect the beauty of the world’s oceans, with the rippling waves to represent Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ heritage of luxury and perfection, the Journey in Jewels egg sits atop a pedestal of ocean greens, turquoise and pearl. Each wave is designed with deep blues lightening into an ocean spray, characterised by pristine white pearls.

Sitting on this three-tiered foundation, Journey in Jewels takes inspiration from the vaunted 1913 Winter Egg, created by Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé as a gift for Tsarina Maria Feodorovna from Tsar Nicholas II. Fabergé was founded in 1842, and it was Peter Carl Fabergé who began the legacy of the ingenious and artful Fabergé eggs. He created 50 such objets d’art for the Romanov family in Russia between 1885 and 1916. Today, Fabergé honours that craftsmanship and heritage by creating original pieces that capture the elegance and excellence of the past, and celebrate the creativity and colour of the future.

With Journey in Jewels, a Fabergé egg is on permanent exhibition at sea for the first time. Not only nly will this bring the timeless ess beauty of Fabergé to discerning guests, it also o seals Seven Seas Grandeur’s place in the rich history of Fabergé. bergé.
