Brawl at kebab shop selling ‘Israel-supporting’ Coca-Cola
A VIOLENT brawl erupted outside a kebab takeaway after pro-Palestine protesters demanded the owner boycott Coca-Cola.
Salahudin Yusuf, the owner of Salah’s Fried Chicken in Bradford, was reportedly left needing stitches after being assaulted by a group of up to 50 people.
Shocking footage captured during the confrontation last Friday shows a mob draped in Palestinian flags gathering outside the shop on the city’s Leeds Road.
The situation appears to escalate as a man comes out of the restaurant to confront them. The group then attempt to hit the man with sticks.
Panicked shouts of ‘guys, guys calm down’ can be heard in the background as the situation becomes more hostile.
Four men were reportedly arrested with reports of people assaulted and windows damaged. Other footage appears to show the group smashing the windows from outside the takeaway.
Mirban, a close friend of the owner, said the protesters gathered outside the shop to demand the boycott of CocaCola. According to Friends Of Al-Aqsa, a UK-based non-government organisation: ‘CocaCola operates on stolen Palestinian land and is therefore directly profiting from Israel’s illegal occupation and apartheid in Palestine.’ Mirban told Feed the Lion, a Halal food news site, that the mob were saying that the shop ‘ sells coke from underneath the counter and we’ve warned them multiple times’.
Four men, aged 30, 34, 46 and 50, have been arrested on suspicion of offences including assault, affray and possession of an offensive weapon. Police said they will keep an increased presence in the area.
