Facing jail for stalking ex, thug banned from talking to any woman

- By Cameron Charters

A CAREER criminal and suspected serial rapist given a banning order preventing him from speaking to any woman is now facing jail for stalking his former girlfriend.

Dean Dyer, 43, burst into a tanning salon where his ex-partner worked as a receptionist and threatened to ‘smash in her face’.

During the outburst he launched a cup at her head and shouted abuse at her. The receptionist called police and Dyer was arrested as he made his way back to the salon, holding a bunch of flowers.

At the time last month, a rare ‘sexual risk order’ was in place banning Dyer from any contact with women or girls – a sanction imposed by a judge in 2021 after seven females including a 14-year-old girl claimed that Dyer raped, sexually assaulted or threatened to attack them.

While Dyer was not convicted in respect of these allegations, the evidence was deemed strong enough to prove a ‘sexual act’ took place and that Dyer put women at risk.

It means he cannot even speak to women or girls without their consent or that of their parents. He must also inform police 24 hours before he plans to have sex.

But Dyer ignored this three times – on January 7 at the salon when he cruelly told police his ex-girlfriend had ‘invited him there to have sex’. On December 13 last year he stood outside the salon for eight hours and on November 14, at the home of his ex’s mother in Enfield, north London, he shouted abuse at her through the letter box.

Dyer was convicted of common assault, stalking involving serious harm from August 1 2023 to January 8 2024, and three breaches of the order.

Salon attack witness Marcus Christie told Westminster magistrates that Dyer told his ex-girlfriend ‘When can I come back to smash your face in?’, adding that the victim was

‘I will smash your face in’

‘very physically shaken’. Dyer is a career criminal with 76 offences against his name.

The hearing last week saw Dyer convicted for the first time of a sex offence.

District Judge Nina Tempia sent him to Isleworth Crown Court for sentencing, where he will also be sentenced for breaching a two-year suspended term he received at Leicester Crown Court for an unspecified offence.
