n I ORDERED two pairs of trainers from Sports Direct in October but had to return one pair as the shoes were too big. I posted them back a few days later but never received a refund.

B. L., Tavistock, devon. SPOrtS Direct apologises and says it received a pink dress instead of the trainers, which it believes was due to a labelling error made by the courier. It has now refunded you £59.99 and offered you 20 pc off your next order, which you have declined. n I HAD to cancel two holidays, in March and May 2022, after my son passed away. I made a claim with my travel insurer, but it will pay out only £450. It says that I did not notify it of my son’s illness soon enough, even though I called on the day I found out about it.

anonymous, via email. yOUr insurer says that it has no record of your call. It claims that you did not contact it until May, thus reducing the insurance payout you were entitled to. It has agreed to pay you the full £2,198 cost. n I PAID £3,800 for a boiler to be installed but the fitter left behind a leaking joint. It flooded my loft and brought down the

ceiling. I have not yet received the £2,580 settlement I was promised.

When it arrived it didn’t work, so I wanted a refund. The company only offered me a new one but the website states it does offer refunds. I complained but haven’t heard back.
