WOULD LIKE TO MEET

A KIND, funny man who’s happy in his own skin. Arrogance is a turn-off.

DATING PAST

I WaS married for four years in my early 40s. Before that, my longest relationship was, again, four years. I was interested in a conventional life path of marriage and children when I was younger, but nowadays I’m relaxed about finding someone.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

No, I was keen to put my date at ease. as he’s an accountant, I did worry he’d be a nerd, especially as he mentioned on his application that he’s born on May 4 (known as Star Wars day) and therefore a Jedi.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

JereMY is a warm, friendly, goodlooking guy. physically, he’s tall with an open and engaging face. We greeted one another with a hug and a kiss, which we both instigated. he told me it was lovely to meet me, then offered me the seat against the wall, which meant I got the comfy sofa.

EASY TO TALK TO?

YeS, and we joked that Jeremy talks far more than me. I was happy to listen — he’s an interesting man.

I liked that he has solid friendship groups. he’s been going skiing with one group of guys for 20 years. We also talked about his children and ex, but mainly we focused on our passions.

Jeremy is into his sports; he loves playing squash. I confessed that I wasn’t sure if I’d be sporty enough for him — even though I have completed many tetrathlons, which involves shooting, swimming, riding and running. Jeremy confessed he’d had to look it up!

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

JereMY had a man-bag. It was a similar design to my leather Italian handbag. there’s something rather feminine about it. he even had a nail file in it, which I found quite amusing.

DID SPARKS FLY?

I thINk there was a little bit of chemistry. I found Jeremy attractive. We both did a bit of flirting — there was a lot of eye contact, but no physical gestures or hand holding.

he was keen to get a selfie and squashed in next to me on the sofa.

SEE HIM AGAIN?

Well, I hope so. Jeremy is lovely company, although he did mention he’s got a couple of other blind dates lined up. My surprised expression made him backtrack a bit.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I doN’t know. at one point, he said I’m a difficult read. I’m open and honest, so I don’t know what he meant.

WOULD YOUR FRIENDS LIKE HIM?

defINItelY. Jeremy is a good laugh.
