WATCH OUT FOR… DATABANK YOUR GUIDE TO THIS AFTERNOON’S ACTION

CANNOCK PARK (2.17 Kelso)

Paul Robson, this gelding’s trainer, has an unusual sideline in that he is also an undertaker. He might not lead a conventional racing life but his horse has bags of talent and he is no forlorn hope in the Premier Novices’ Hurdle. He has been priced up at double figure odds in most markets for this race — they most certainly underestimate his chances. UNDER SUPERVISION (3.40 doncaster) Well fancied for Aintree’s Becher Chase when he was last seen in december, this gelding has a couple of Cheltenham Festival entries. If the eight-year-old is to take them up, then he would want to be winning this historic old contest — once a pointer to the Grand National — for team Twiston-davies.

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Visits to Kelso would be rare for NICO DE BOINVILLE but he has four important rides for his boss, Nicky Henderson. PENTLAND HILLS (1.42), JANGO BAIE

(2.17), UNDER CONTROL

(2.50) and GOVERNOR OF

INDIA (4.35) all have chances in competitive heats.

WHAT’S IN A NAME MAKIN’YOUR MIND UP

(4.05 Newbury) There can only be one thought around this horse and that is Bucks Fizz and the eurovision Song Contest. It is 43 years since that famous dance routine in dublin but listen to it again and you will hear the song has lost none of its energy. Backers of this gelding, trained by Paul Nicholls, will hope jockey Harry Cobden can ‘speed it up’ — did you really think you would

BIG DAY FOR…

HARRY DERHAM’S horses continue to tick along nicely. He sends four runners to Newbury, including SIR PSYCHO (1.55) and BRENTFORD HOPE (3.00), while MOJO EGO heads north for the stable for a decent prize at Kelso (4.35). BELLA CIVENA (4.15) is in action at doncaster.

DÉJÀ VU

Those horses to follow who are running in the same race as last year:
