Harry’s new skiing buddy: Kardashian matriarch’s beau
HIS life was once defined by palace protocol, which was intended to keep him on the straight and narrow and doing his duty as a member of ‘The Firm’ — as his late grandfather, Prince Philip, memorably described the Royal Family.
But now, as if to demonstrate he’ll never again let himself be reined in by starchy courtiers, the Duke of Sussex has ditched the company of kings for that of . . . Kardashians.
I hear that Prince Harry, 39, has been enjoying the glories of Aspen, America’s swankiest ski resort, in the company of business executive Corey Gamble, 43, the man in the life of Kris Jenner, 68-year- old mother of reality U.S. television royalty, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.
Kris also has two daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, by her second husband, Bruce — now Caitlyn — Jenner, who won Olympic gold in the decathlon.
‘Harry’s been skiing with Corey,’ a fellow downhill enthusiast tells me, adding that the pair were joined by a handful of other friends, including Whitney Wolfe, 34, who became the youngest female billionaire in the world when she took her online dating company, Bumble, public in 2021, and Whitney’s husband, Michael Herd whom she first met on a previous Aspen skiing trip.
Herd, a Texan oil heir, owns the private jet on which Harry and Meghan flew to Las Vegas last November to watch their California neighbour, the pop superstar Katy Perry, perform in concert.
It’s not just on the slopes that Harry’s had a chance to bond with his new pals. ‘They’ve been skiing during the day and going to one of the better-known speak- easies in the evening,’ a source tells me. There was, understandably, no sign of Meghan, who’s fully focused on relaunching herself as an online guru with her own cookery and lifestyle brand, a role which I disclosed yesterday.
Who knows, perhaps at some stage in the not-too-distant future she’ll be joined in the kitchen by Kim or Kourtney or Khloe — or for a barbecue at their mansion in Montecito, which she and Harry snapped up for £11 million and which is said to boast seven bedrooms and 16 bathrooms.
