PC ‘told burglar his days were numbered after he dumped her’
A POLICE officer who had a relationship with a burglar threatened him and his mother in a string of anonymous messages after he dumped her, a court heard. PC Miriam Virgo, 43, ‘didn’t take it well’ when Carl Cserfalvi-Young ended their fling after three weeks.
Virgo, an officer with thames Valley Police, allegedly told Mr Cserfalvi-Young his days were ‘numbered’ in ‘gangster’ texts that she also sent to his mother in an attempt to intimidate them.
Prosecutors allege Virgo sent the messages using a website which allows users to pay to send texts anonymously.
She denies harassment causing fear of violence.

‘I’ve got nothing to lose’
Ward- Jackson told Winchester Crown Court the offence was made up of nine events that took place between May 31 and September 10, 2022.
‘He dumped her and she didn’t take it very well – she got her revenge by the threatening of violence which the Crown say is harassment,’ he said.
the court heard Mr Cserfalvi-Young had recently been released from prison for burglary when the pair met at a pub in Reading, Berks, in May 2022 and they began a relationship.
‘Mr Cserfalvi-Young was aware she was a serving police officer,’ Mr Ward- Jackson said.
He had broken things off via a phone call in which he told her he wanted to get back with his exgirlfriend, the court heard.
‘She hung up on him and then started to take a type of revenge,’ the prosecutor said.
‘She looked up the girlfriend on Facebook and, having found her address, sent her a message.’
Virgo called the woman and told his ex-girlfriend she had ‘got him back’, it was heard. on the evening she was dumped in June 2022, Virgo texted Mr CserfalviYoung, saying: ‘i just told my cousin what you did.
‘He said out of all the people you could have f***** over you picked the wrong one.’
She then rang him and said: ‘You’ve seen a nice side of me, but you haven’t seen the other side of me, and if you f*** with me i will f*** with you. i’ve got nothing to lose.’
the court heard there was then little correspondence until anonymous messages in early September were sent to Mr Cserfalvi-Young and his mother.
He received a text in ‘gangstertype language’ warning him to stay away from where his girlfriend lived in Chigwell.
in a ‘devious disguise’, Virgo allegedly pretended to be a lover of Mr Cserfalvi-Young’s girlfriend, saying: ‘ Your days are numbered . . . Ur a dead man walking.’
He reported the four ‘extremely threatening’ messages to police. Virgo was arrested a week later at her address in Reading.
the trial, which is expected to last five days, continues.
