Will Leo be Bridget’s toyboy?
One Day actor is lined up for fourth film and romancing Ms Jones may be on the cards
HAVING built a reputation in romantic dramas, could Leo Woodall become the toyboy love interest of Bridget Jones in his biggest role to date?
The One Day actor, 27, will appear in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, the fourth movie in the series.
Film studio Working Title Films posted on Instagram: ‘Bridget is back! Renée Zellweger will return as the beloved character in an adaptation of Helen Fielding’s best-selling novel.
‘Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson will also be back in Bridget’s life, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall who are joining the cast.’
During the last movie, Bridget Jones’s Baby released in 2016, the titular character discovered she was pregnant with her first child.

Mad About The Boy would then follow Bridget, played by Renee Zellweger, 54, as a single mother navigating the dating scene, apps and an age-gap romance.
That plot suggests there is every chance Mr Woodall could play her younger lover.
Working Title also confirmed Mad About The Boy will be directed by Michael Morris and is set for release on Valentine’s Day next year.
Fans rushed to share online their ‘excitement’ at Mr Woodall being cast – with one posting: ‘Leo Woodall in Bridget Jones, my man is now a movie star.’
But some users suggested that if the film is set in the future, then he may play the son of Bridget.
The actor received acclaim this year for leading role in Netflix hit One Day opposite Ambika Mod, who captured his heart as Emma Morley. His character, Dexter Mayhew, struggled to come to terms with life in the spotlight and the death of his mother. Prior to this, Mr Woodall had featured in the second season of black comedy drama The White Lotus in 2022, in which he portrayed Cockney troublemaker Jack. During that filming, he met his now girlfriend Meghann Fahy, 33, who had played Daphne.
