Trans teacher talks makeup and shaving

PARENTS at a Church of England school say seven-year-olds were left ‘confused’ when a trans supply teacher told them she felt ‘gorgeous’ after having a shave.

The teacher was wearing women’s clothing when she is said to have begun explaining gender identity to the Year 2 class at the start of an English lesson at Bitterne Primary in Southampton.

According to one parent, the teacher said: ‘If you’re wondering why I’m so gorgeous, it’s because I’ve put makeup on and had a shave.’

Rachel Bennet, whose daughter was in the class, said: ‘It’s a bit much for Year 2 children.’

Headteacher Jen Johnson told parents: ‘We have reaffirmed the school’s expectations for what we expect supply teachers to deliver.’
