When The Nightly Show on ITV was crashing and burning in those first weeks, it occurred to me that Adam Hills would make a fantastic host for a late-night, American-style chat show. At the helm of this hit panel mash-up, the comedian has been largely responsible for its success – ably assisted of course by Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe. And he’s perfectly comfortable flitting from hard-hitting news stories and current affairs, to sketches, comedy and general tomfoolery. Any fan of The Last Leg also knows that viewers can tweet in questions that other shows might duck, using the #isitok twitter hashtag. Plus, it’s all live, so Adam really can handle anything. Just give the man a house band and he’s good to go! In tonight’s edition, the three amigos are joined live in the studio by Sandi Toksvig, recently announced as the new co-presenter (with Noel Fielding) of The Great British Bake Off in its Channel 4 incarnation. And singer, songwriter and hilarious tweeter James Blunt also joins them on The Last Leg couch.
