VANCEY PANTS FOY SCORES CUSTOM HOUSE SQUARE GIG

-

The second of the newly-curated CHSQ shows will be headlined by the unique and unmistakable homegrown talent that is Foy Vance, who takes to the stage on Saturday August 19.

Foy’s last excursion home was to raise the roof off two sold-out nights at the Ulster Hall that have gone down in folklore for anyone in attendance. His return to headline his largest ever local show will be alongside some hand-picked special guests & friends including Amy Macdonald, Ryan Mcmullan, and Ultimate favourite David C Clements.

Foy Vance is a critically acclaimed singer and songwriter who hails from Bangor, but now calls Aberfeldy, Scotland, home. His sound is deeply-rooted in the rich musical history and aesthetic of the Southern United States. Gathering huge acclaim of both fans and fellow musicians alike after the release of his debut album Hope in 2007, Foy was invited to tour worldwide with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Marcus Foster, Snow Patrol, Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John.

Foy’s second full-length album, Joy of Nothing, debuted in 2013 on Glassnote Records and was followed up by Foy’s first live recording, Live at Bangor Abbey, released in 2015 and recorded in Foy’s hometown. Foy was only the second artist signing to Gingerbread Man Records, a division of Atlantic Records started by Ed Sheeran, and his debut recording on Gingerbread Man Records, The Wild Swan, was recorded in the legendary Blackbird Studios in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Jacquire King.

What a show this promises to be. £24.50 tickets go/went on sale at 9am this morning from all usual Ticketmaster outlets.
