Red iphone 7
£699
Apple has today released a red version of its popular iphone 7. While a new colour option might not sound like much to write home about, it represents more than 10 years of partnership between Apple and AIDS charity (RED), founded by U2 frontman Bono and activist Bobby Shriver.
Buying the phone gives customers a way to contribute to the (RED) Global Fund while also getting their hands on a “special edition” Apple device.
First launched in September 2016, the iphone 7 sports the same aluminium design as the iphone 6. It is dust-resistant and waterproof to a depth of one metre for up to 30 minutes.
It has a much improved camera and a “force-sensitive” Home button that provides haptic feedback when pressed. There’s no headphone socket, but Apple provides a pair of headphones in the box, with a connector that plugs straight into the charging port, as well as an adaptor for your old headphones.
