Korea threat to blast a US nuke carrier
NORTH Korea claims it is ready to sink a United States aircraft carrier to prove its military might. The threat was made in the dictatorship’s state newspaper as two Japanese navy ships joined a US carrier group for exercises in the western Pacific. President Donald Trump ordered the USS Carl Vinson strike group to sail to waters near North Korea after leader Kim Jong-un’s nuclear tests. US Vice President Mike Pence said on Saturday it would arrive “within days”. But Rodong Sinmun, the newspaper of the country’s ruling Workers Party, likened the aircraft carrier to a “gross animal”. It added: “Our forces are combat-ready to sink a US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier with a single strike.”
