DUNGANNON Swifts are all but assured of a place in the Europa League play-offs following Saturday’s 4-0 over Carrick. A Ryan Harpur (inset) brace and goals from Andy Mitchell and Fra Brennan kept Swifts in seventh, three points clear of nearest challengers Ards and with a far superior goal difference. Boss Rodney Mcaree said: “Barring something major going wrong, we’ll be in the play-offs. It’s a major achievement and something to look forward to.” Elsewhere, Glentoran beat relegated Portadown 3-0 at The Oval thanks to a Curtis Allen brace and Eric Foley free-kick while Ards ran out 3-2 winners at Ballinamallard on Friday with goals from Matthew Shevlin, Kyle Cherry and Michael Ruddy.
