KANE CALL TO RISE UP FOR POCH

- BY JOHN CROSS

HARRY KANE has admitted Tottenham must become big-game players if they are to win trophies under Mauricio Pochettino. Incredibly, Tottenham’s defeat was the seventh time in a row they have lost an FA Cup semi-final and have not lifted the trophy since 1991. They have not won the title since 1961. Their last trophy was the League Cup in 2008 and striker Kane said: “We have to find a way to win these sort of games, the big games, the big moments. “We need to find a way to get over the line even when we are not playing so well. “It comes over a period of time. We have to try to do that. “It’s hard to take because I think we deserved more. “But sometimes in the big games, the big moments you need a bit of luck or something to go your way – and it didn’t. “We have got six tough games ahead of us in the Premier League, let’s focus on them and see how high we finish.” Tottenham’s impressive form has taken them to within four points of Chelsea and they have not given up on the title. But Kane admits they must prove they can react strongly when they go to Crystal Palace on Wednesday and show there is no hangover from the FA Cup disappointment. He added: “A lot of people will be waiting to see whether the momentum has stopped a bit, but we are focused. Hopefully this is just a blip. “We want to finish strong in the league and learn from what happened to us last year. “The only way we can do that is starting with a win on Wednesday. It’s a tough game, Palace away, but I think that we are strong enough mentally.”
