HOW TO REDUCE ALLERGENS IN YOUR CHILD’S BEDROOM

-

1 Soft toys should be washed with non-bio washing powder suitable for sensitive skin at more than 60°C or put in the freezer overnight, then washed at a lower temperature. 2 Keep windows closed during early morning and evening in the pollen season. 3 Consider using a roller blind instead of a curtain. 4 Cover duvets and pillows with anti-allergy bedding. 5 Wash all bed linen weekly at 60°C with non-bio washing powder. 6 Use cotton sheets. 7 Vacuum daily but don’t have children in the room at the time. Allow 3-4 hours for dust to settle before letting children back into the room. 8 Choose a lampshade that can be wiped. Fabric lampshades can hold onto dust in the room. 9 Running an air cleaner can help in the reduction of allergens such as house dust mites.
