NO FRESH ERR SHOT IN WEST

- BY DARAGH SMALL

Connacht Scarlets Sportsground, 7.35pm

CONNACHT must cut out basic errors if they want to finish their final Pro12 game of the season with a win, according to backs coach Conor Mcphillips. The former Connacht winger (right) is heading to Bristol with Pat Lam in the summer and he wants the reigning champions to finish with a flourish. “It could be our last home game so we want to go out on a high,” said Mcphillips. “The errors are frustrating and it is something that we have worked on since the Leinster game. “We would be worried if we weren’t creating those opportunities, but no one remembers the opportunities they only remember the scores. “We just need to take the right options and score the tries that we are leaving behind us.” The Pro12 champions will wrap up their schedule against Munster in Limerick next week before trying to snatch a Champions Cup spot through the playoffs. They will, of course, be without Pro12 Player of the Year Bundee Aki after he was handed a threematch ban for his behaviour towards match referee Ian Davies. Coach Pat Lam, in possibly his final match at the Sportsground unless they secure a Champions Cup play-off decider at home, is going to give fringe players and those returning from injury an opportunity and has made 10 changes. CONNACHT: T O’halloran; D Leader, T Farrell, E Griffin, C Kelleher; M Boshoff, C Blade; F Bealham, D Heffernan, D Robertson-mccoy; J Cannon, A Browne; S O’brien, J Heenan, E Masterson.
