VINCENT KOMPANY is certain Manchester City will finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. City are locked in a tense battle with local rivals Manchester United, plus Liverpool and Arsenal, for a top-four spot. Failing to be in the elite competition next season will hamper manager Pep Guardiola’s recruitment plans and prestige, but it is in their own hands. They faltered to a 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough on Sunday, coming from behind twice. And captain Kompany (below) said: “There is not one single doubt in our minds that we’ll get the job done. “It goes to show the Premier League is really special – it’s very unpredictable, and we knew with United drawing at home (to Swansea) we had a big chance. “We will do everything we can to win the last four games but, in our heads, it’s not about looking at one game above another. “Every one is a priority and we approach them all in that way. It’s not performance that has been the issue, it’s been about key moments and the way we handle them.” City have not been prolific at the Etihad – where they have three games left. But Kompany says they’ll put that right, starting against Crystal Palace on Saturday. He added: “Home form? It’s not going to be a problem any more. We have to feel that the fans will play a big role in that. “It’s an advantage to play at home – we need everyone there to create the extra man.”
