Gang dispute gun accused is denied bail
A MAN allegedly involved in trying to buy a gun on the dark web as part of a gangland feud must remain in custody, a High Court judge has ruled. Darren Bennett was refused bail amid claims he is linked to the bid to purchase a Glock pistol and ammunition from police posing as an online arms dealer in February. The 22-year-old, from Shore Road, Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, is also accused of trying to obtain drugs with intent to supply. Mr Justice Horner heard Bennett was arrested along with two other men and is linked to a feud in his home town. A Crown lawyer said: “It’s a very serious, high-level investigation.”
